MAG and Formuler Box
The least fiddly route of all. The box announces itself by hardware address, so there is no username and no password to fumble through with a remote.
Before you start
- A MAG box or a compatible Formuler model
- The MAC address printed underneath it
Read the MAC off the underside
The sticker underneath shows something in the shape of 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX. The same value appears on the box under Settings, then System Settings, then About. Copy it down colon for colon.
Hand us the MAC with your order
Pick MAG as the delivery method at checkout and enter the address precisely as printed. That is the only thing we need from you, and it is the value the portal matches when your box calls home.
Aim the box at the portal
On the box open Settings, System Settings, Servers, then Portals. Give the first slot any name that suits you, and drop the portal address from your account into the field beneath it.
Restart the portal
Save the change and restart the portal from the system menu. Channels arrive by themselves with no sign in screen in the way, which is precisely why this option suits anybody who would rather never think about credentials.
Worth knowing before match day
- A single mistyped character leaves the portal unable to place the box. If nothing loads at all, verify the MAC before you look at anything else.
- A new box does not mean a new subscription. Send support the replacement MAC and we will carry the line over at no charge.
- There is a wired port on the back for good reason. Use it, particularly on the box feeding the main television on a Saturday afternoon.
